Fresh garden tomatoes genuinely are one of life’s greatest pleasures. From bruschetta and skewers to pizza rolls and dip, there’s plenty of variety here. And most of them are incredibly easy to make, so don’t limit yourself to special occasions. Indeed, they’re great for when you’re hosting a party or planning brunch. However, you could also serve them as tasty everyday snacks. Either way, these 13 tomato appetizers are sure to satisfy you and your guests. Don’t wait, give them a try today!
1. Fresh Tomato Bruschetta
Bruschetta is one of my all-time favorite appetizers! There’s just something about the simplicity of grilled bread topped with fresh ingredients. It really hits the spot. And it’s perfect for summertime entertainment. It’s easy to make, and everyone always loves it. This version makes use of juicy summer tomatoes. Plus, you’ll accent it with garlic and basil for a delicious flavor profile.
2. Baked Feta and Tomatoes
Do you love Mediterranean flavors? If so, you’ll adore this baked feta and tomato dish! It’s simple to make but tastes delicious. Feta cheese is a perfect, tangy addition to any meal. When paired with juicy tomatoes, it’s unbelievably delectable. This dish is the juicier, zestier version of baked brie. It has an incredible texture, looks stunning, and tastes even better. Additionally, it uses only eight ingredients and takes just 30 minutes to make. So if you want to whip it up just for you, go right ahead. You’ll get no judgment from me!
3. Caprese Skewers
Here’s another fun (and simple!) Mediterranean dish. It combines cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, and mini-mozzarella balls. Add a little salt and pepper and drizzle them in a balsamic-olive oil mixture for added flavor. The result is a flavorful, colorful appetizer that’s convenient to make and eat. You can have them ready in just 15 minutes, and there’s zero cooking involved.
4. Sun-Dried Tomato Ricotta Crostini
Let’s take a slight detour here for a second. Do you guys know the difference between bruschetta and crostini? I only ask because I didn’t know until very recently. As a hardcore, dedicated foodie, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that. It’s true, though. I used the terms interchangeably for quite some time. Then, I finally decided to do a bit of googling. It turns out the difference is the bread. Crostini typically uses baguettes; bruschetta uses thicker, larger slices of bread. The more you know, right? Luckily, you don’t need to know the difference between them to appreciate both. This sun-dried tomato ricotta crostini is the stuff. It’s juicy and full of herb and tomato flavors. Add the creamy ricotta for extra zing, and you have a first-rate appetizer.
5. Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes
No shade to stuffed peppers, but stuffed tomatoes are phenomenal. Each one is a bite-sized mouthful of ambrosia. Juicy cherry tomatoes are stuffed with garlic- and dill-infused cream cheese. There’s just nothing bad there.
6. Mediterranean Tomato and Feta Dip
This dense, chunky dip is bright, zesty, and out of this world. It’s cool and refreshing and ideal for summer parties. Plus, it’s highly versatile. You can use it as a side salad or a dip. You can even top other dishes with it, such as eggs or omelettes. It can add a vibrant burst of color and a rich flavor to practically anything.
7. 5-Ingredient Burst Tomato Spread
Burst tomato spread is like warm bruschetta, and I’m here for it. It features tons of bold tomato flavor with just a hint of garlic. You’ll also add red pepper flakes to give it a little bite. It takes minimal effort and about 20 minutes to make. Serve it with garlic bread, toasted baguettes, or pita bread. It certainly won’t disappoint either way.
8. Barefoot Contessa Sun-Dried Tomato Dip
Sun-dried tomato dip is thick, creamy, and low-carb- and keto-friendly. Each serving has just two net carbs. And the amount of flavor in each bite is almost unbelievable. It has such a bright, summery taste that pairs well with anything. If you want to keep it keto-friendly, serve it with fresh garden veggies instead of bread. Crackers, chips, and garlic toast also taste spectacular with it, though.
9. BLT Bites
BLTs are scrumptious, but they don’t make good appetizers. BLT bites, on the other hand, are delightful appetizers. They, too, are a type of stuffed cherry tomato, but you won’t use cream cheese. Instead, you fill them with mayo, bacon, lettuce, and green onions. And yes, every bite is a treasure. These little things are so addictive. I guarantee that you’ll love them.
10. Tomato Tart With Puff Pastry
Don’t you just love the flaky yumminess of puff pastry? Now, picture that topped with Gruyere cheese, parmesan, and juicy tomatoes. How about adding a little Dijon mustard for zing? And an herb vinaigrette dressing? Are you drooling yet? You should be. This tomato tart is tantalizing. In fact, these taste so good that you don’t even need fresh tomatoes. Everything else complements them beautifully, even if they’re store-bought. That means you can pretty much make these a year-round treat.
11. Tomato Basil Pizza Dip
Don’t be fooled by what you’re seeing. That is not, in fact, a pizza on your screen. However, this ooey, gooey, cheesy dip is very pizza-esque. It’s herb-flavored and full of cheese and tomato goodness. Dip it with chips, crackers, or even garlic bread. Everyone around the table is sure to love it.
12. Tomato Pizza Rolls
I’m no snob. I enjoy a nice plate of air-fried Totino’s pizza rolls just as much as the next person. Unfortunately, they just can’t hold a candle to the pizza rolls in this recipe. There’s nothing frozen or processed about these. Just look at them. Aren’t they gorgeous?! They look like something you’d have at a five-star restaurant! You’ll go crazy for the warm dough and juicy, garlicky tomatoes. The parmesan, basil, and prosciutto don’t hurt anything, either. These are genuine delicacies, and you’ll savor every single bite. You’ll still be able to enjoy a quickly nuked Totino’s roll occasionally. Just don’t ever expect them to compare to these.
13. Cherry Tomato and Pancetta Mini-Quiches
These stunning mini-quiches are perfect for any occasion. That includes events when you need something fancy. And as long as you have a muffin pan, they’re super easy to make. They’re robust, savory, and full of zesty, fresh flavors. The various cheeses and puff pastry dough are pure decadence. Fortunately, the veggies help tone that down a bit. To be so small, these are ridiculously filling. They’re also incredible, so be careful not to overdo it if you’re eating them before a big meal. Click on a star to rate it!
