They’re sweet, slushy, and usually bright and colorful. In fact, they’re so yummy and invigorating that most of us can’t limit ourselves to enjoying them only in the summer. And that’s okay! If you want to break out a frozen strawberry margarita on Valentine’s Day or an orange creamsicle cocktail on Halloween, you do you! There’s no judgment here. For me, it’s all about the dirty banana cocktail, and I can enjoy that all year long, so whatever your favorite frozen cocktail is, don’t limit yourself. Break it out whenever you feel like having it!
1. Orange Creamsicle Cocktail
Do you love orange sherbet? Do you wish you could enjoy a nice orange push-pop like you did when you were a child? If you answered yes to either of those, then the orange creamsicle cocktail is the mixed drink for you. It’s thick, creamy, and almost has a milkshake-like consistency. It tastes just like orange sherbet, but once the vodka hits your tongue – and you will taste it, though not strongly – you’ll realize this orange sherbet is for adults only.
2. Frozen Pina Colada
No drink exemplifies summer on the beach for me like a pina colada, and this frozen version is even more of a summer staple. It combines the warm, rich flavor of white rum with natural pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and some ice to make it slushy. Like all pina coladas, it’s incredibly sweet. It’s also refreshing and will have you mentally transported to your favorite Hawaiian island with only one sip.
3. Frozen Strawberry Margarita
Frozen strawberry margaritas aren’t the most original or unique frozen cocktails on the list. Instead, they’re a classic, but they’re a classic for a reason! They have a wonderfully sweet and tangy taste, thanks to the mixture of sweet strawberries and simple syrup and the tartness of orange and lime juices. Plus, the tequila provides that strong, earthy kick that only tequila can give you.
4. Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
Most people fall into one of two camps, and if strawberry margaritas aren’t your thing, then you’re probably in camp strawberry daiquiri instead. Strawberry daiquiris are for those who enjoy the simple pleasures in life. All you’ll need to make it is fresh strawberries, frozen strawberries, light rum, and lime juice. The rum will warm your belly, but all you’ll taste are those yummy strawberries in every sip.
5. Frozen Mudslide
The frozen mudslide is another classic frozen cocktail that everybody knows and most people love. If you like to feed both your vices at once – chocolate and alcohol – this is the drink for you. To make this decadent, creamy drink, you’ll need vanilla ice cream, vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlua, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, ice cubes, and chocolate sprinkles. It’s thick, sweet, and chocolatey to the extreme. Just keep it away from the kids. No one could resist trying this delectable dessert drink.
6. Dirty Banana Frozen Cocktail
The frozen mudslide may be the most popular chocolate-filled frozen cocktail, but in my opinion, nothing beats the dirty banana. It, too, features vodka, Kahlua, crushed ice, and chocolate syrup, but the addition of a frozen banana, heavy cream, Coco Lopez, and a maraschino cherry makes this drink far superior. It’s like a boozy banana split in a glass, and I am totally here for it!
7. Frozen Lime Daiquiri
This frozen lime daiquiri may look like a glass full of snow, but it tastes of zesty lime and rich rum, with a light sweetness to tone down the sourness. Plus, you only need four ingredients (and lime wedges for garnish) and 5 minutes to pull it together.
8. Frozen Peach Bellini
If you’re a fan of peaches, you’ll love this three-ingredient frozen peach bellini. You’ll add sliced fresh peaches to a base of chilled Prosecco and mango nectar. You’ll appreciate the lovely orange color and fizzy bubbles, and you won’t hate the alcohol-soaked peach slices at the bottom of your glass, either.
9. Frozen Pineapple Daiquiri
Made with frozen pineapple, white rum, lime juice, ice, and sugar, this drink can’t help but taste like the tropical treat it is. It’s tartly sweet and pretty strong for a daiquiri. It takes 5 minutes to make, and you can jazz it up with some pineapple slices and lime wedges on the rim.
10. Frozen Mango Daiquiri
If you’ve always wanted to try a daiquiri but aren’t a fan of strawberries, pineapples, or limes, try this mango variety instead. It’s just as slushy as the others and packs the same powerful rum punch. Only, you’ll make this daiquiri with flavorful mangoes instead of the more readily found fruits. You’ll also use an ounce of triple sec, so it’ll have you feeling tipsy faster than the other daiquiris on the list.
11. Sex on the Beach Slushies
Sex on the beach has been a popular drink since the late-80s, and it probably won’t lose steam anytime soon. But what if I told you that you could make it even better by turning it into a slushie? I know! Sounds delicious, right? Well, it is. It has the same great tart and tangy taste and the same gorgeous tri-color, sunrise appearance. But it’s full of chunky, slushy crushed ice, which makes it even more tasty and exciting.
12. Frosé
Are you crazy about rosé? If so, you’ll be even more gaga over this boozy frosé (frozen rosé). Its delicate pretty-in-pink appearance is perfect for a brunch, and it’s super simple to make. You’ll need a bottle of rosé, vodka, and strawberry simple syrup. It’s a light, fruity drink that everyone will enjoy, but it’ll give you a much better buzz than simple rosé alone could ever match.
13. Frozen Cucumber Lemonade Cocktail
This gorgeous green cocktail uses more ingredients than most of the others on our list, but it’s just as easy to make as all the rest. Once you make the simple syrup, you’ll simply add everything to the blender and blend until it’s smooth and slushy. It’s fresh, minty, and just a bit zesty.
14. Blackberry Gin Slush
This icy, bubbly drink features a gorgeous purple color and the bold, mostly tart flavor of blackberries. The ginger ale and mint simple syrup help tone down the tartness a bit and provide the drink with a clean, refreshing aftertaste that’s hard not to enjoy. You won’t taste the gin much, so if you like your cocktails to be heavy on the fruit and light on the booze, you’ll appreciate the blackberry gin slush.
15. Strawberry Prosecco Slushie
Here’s another drink where the liquor takes a backseat to the robust flavors of the other ingredients – orange juice, frozen strawberries, and honey. It’s an icy cold sweet treat with just a whisper of tartness from the orange juice. When I make this drink, I like to add the strawberries last and blend only lightly. That leaves me with some larger chunks of strawberries to enjoy while I’m sipping.
16. Frozen Coconut Mojito
This is the drink for those who just can’t choose between a minty mojito and a tropical pina colada. A frozen coconut mojito says, “Why choose?! Enjoy both!” It’s thick, creamy, and has a lovely milky white color that you don’t often find in cocktails. And believe it or not, the mint pairs really well with the coconut, rum, and lime juice.
17. Frozen Honeydew Daiquiri
I couldn’t finish up the list without adding just one more frozen daiquiri offering for my daiquiri lovers, and this is one you may not have tried before — a frozen honeydew daiquiri. It’s tart and bittersweet, and if the buzz from the rum doesn’t make you want to sit up straight and pay attention, the vibrant honeydew-lime flavor certainly will.
18. Wine Slushy
Why drink plain old wine when you could be enjoying an icy wine slushie instead?! Of all the drinks on this list, this one is the simplest to make. Pick your favorite wine, and pour it into ice trays. Let it freeze (as much as wine ever freezes), pop the cubes out, and blend them until you get a wonderfully slushy wine treat.
19. Frozen Cherry Margaritas
I love the rich, almost purple color of these cherry margaritas. It’s gorgeous and almost sensual. I also love the unique, primarily tart flavor from the cherries, pomegranate juice, and lime. Finally, the double dose of tequila and triple sec doesn’t hurt my feelings, either. If you’re looking for a drink that’s both strong in potency and flavor, you can’t go wrong with the frozen cherry margarita.
20. Raspberry Gin Frozen Cocktail
This 5-minute, 5-ingredient drink is a must-try for anyone who loves raspberries. It’s super thick, almost moving out of the slushie territory and into whatever comes next. It’s a beautiful bright red and flawlessly combines the tanginess of raspberries with the sour zestiness of lime juice and lime cordial. The gin and soda water round out the drink, adding bubbles and a dry, almost floral-like aftertaste. This is one of those front porch, Mason jar drinks, and I mean that as a total compliment.
