Unlike Halloween, New Year’s Eve, and Christmas, Easter isn’t usually a holiday where people get together and party. However, Easter brunches are incredibly popular, and big Easter dinners with family and friends are also a common way to celebrate. And nothing makes or breaks a brunch like the cocktails. Furthermore, after-dinner drinks are always appreciated, as long as they’re tasty. So while Easter cocktails may seem like an odd niche of recipes, this article isn’t as strange as you might first have thought. Plus, these taste and look great all year long; you don’t have to wait until Easter to enjoy them!
1. Raspberry Rose Sangria
As you know, most people associate Easter with spring and rebirth, so the best Easter cocktails are those that are light, fruity, and refreshing. This raspberry rose sangria is all three of those things! It’s beautifully red, lightly sweet, just a bit tart, and full of raspberries. It’s the perfect porch drink for spring or summer.
2. Peach Prosecco Punch
There’s nothing better for a get-together than a bubbly party punch. You can whip this one up in only 5 minutes with chilled prosecco, peach nectar, raspberries, and blueberries. It’s sweetly tart and refreshing, and it looks lovely with all the berries in it.
3. Mint Grapefruit Mimosa
If you like your cocktails less sweet and with more of a bite, this recipe is perfect for you. The drink is lovely, pink, and bubbly. There’s a light sweetness from the honey and the prosecco, but the grapefruit and mint help tone that down, adding freshness and a slight, not unpleasant, bitterness.
4. Strawberry Champagne
Strawberry champagne is bright red, bubbly, and ideal for those who love super sweet, sugary drinks. It takes practically no effort to make and looks great for almost any holiday.
5. Frozen Peach Bellini
This three-ingredient, 5-minute drink is perfect for anyone who loves cold, slushy beverages with a tropical taste. This frozen peach bellini combines prosecco, frozen peaches, and mango nectar. It tastes like something you’d enjoy sitting beachside in Maui, but you can make it any time you like, including for Easter brunch.
6. Toasted S’mores Martini
Honestly, this martini is more of a fall drink to me, but sometimes, be it fall, winter, summer, or spring, you’ll just need something sweet and decadent. That’s this drink in a nutshell. With chocolate Godiva liqueur, fluffed marshmallow vodka, heavy cream, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, crushed graham crackers, and a marshmallow that you’ll light on fire, decadence may be too mild a word. Regardless, this beautiful, exciting drink is sure to wow the crowd.
7. Brandy Alexander
Here’s another option if you’re looking for something sweet and chocolatey but want to whip it up in a hurry. The Brandy Alexander takes 3 minutes to make and uses only four ingredients. It contains brandy, dark creme de cacao, half-and-half, and grated nutmeg. It’s sweet with just a hint of spice, and the alcohol blends in so well that you can barely taste it.
8. Vodka Cranberry Cocktail
You can be lazy and mix vodka and cranberry juice and call it a vodka cranberry, or you can use this recipe and prepare the drink the way it was meant to be prepared. That means combining an ounce of vodka with cranberry juice and then adding a dash each of lime and orange juice. The result is a tart but delightful drink with a wonderfully complex flavor that the lazy version can never match. And even with the “extra work,” it takes only 3 minutes to make.
9. Limoncello Mojito
Imagine the fresh, clean mint flavor of a mojito combined with Limoncello lemon liqueur and lime juice. The sharp zestiness of the citrus pairs perfectly with the refreshing mint mojito. Be careful, though. This drink tastes so good that the rum is almost undetectable. You can drink a lot of alcohol without realizing it with a cocktail like this.
10. Mint Julep
To prepare this traditional, 5-minute drink, all you’ll need is bourbon, maple syrup, fresh mint leaves, and crushed ice. It has a refreshing, sweet, and smoky taste that’s perfect for anyone, and its unassuming golden and green color scheme is subtle yet ideal.
11. Tequila Sunrise
The tequila sunrise is a well-known, all-occasion drink that takes its name from its sunrise-like appearance. It’s red at the bottom, orange in the middle, and has a golden, sunshine yellow at the top. It takes 3 minutes to make and requires only tequila, orange juice, grenadine, and an orange slice and maraschino cherry for garnishes. It’s primarily tangy and is a great wake-up kick during a lazy brunch.
12. Strawberry Margarita
I’m not sure there’s a drink in the world that’s perceived to be more “girly” than a strawberry margarita. But any man who passes on this drink because it’s pink is really missing out. This cold, slushy drink is delicious. It’s incredibly tart but has an underlying sweetness, and the wonderful fruitiness is undeniably good. Plus, it’s strong.
13. Blackberry Champagne Cocktail
The blackberry champagne cocktail is sweet, refreshing, and flavorful, but that’s not why I love it. It’s possibly the most stunningly gorgeous drink I’ve ever seen. It’s so beautiful that it almost doesn’t look real. It takes a little longer to make than most drinks on our list, but its unmatchable beauty is worth the extra time. Truthfully, I love this drink so much that I find a way to make it work for every holiday.
14. Blood Orange Champagne Mule
For this 5-minute cocktail, you’ll need blood orange juice, lime juice, vodka, mint leaves, chilled ginger beer, and chilled champagne. It’s a tart, slightly bitter drink with a lovely peach color and lots of bubbles. For some people, it’s a bit of an acquired taste, but others take to it from the first sip.
15. Paloma
This vibrant, bittersweet drink is zesty, and you’ll appreciate the added saltiness each time your lips touch the rim. The tequila comes through pretty strong, and neither the grapefruit soda nor lime juice adds much sweetness. Still, if you enjoy a good, stiff drink that might make your eyes water after the first sip, the paloma is the drink for you.
16. Peach Sangria
Sangria is good in just about every form, but this peach sangria, with its base of white wine, ginger ale, and peach schnapps, is one of my favorites. You’ll add sugar and sliced fresh peaches to the pitcher, giving this drink an intense peach flavor that’ll knock you off your feet. When it comes to this drink, it’s pretty simple: If you’re a fan of peaches, you’ll love it.
17. Cadbury Creme Egg Cocktail
Just as Halloween has candy corn and Christmas has candy canes, you can’t have Easter without Cadbury Creme Eggs. This thick, chocolatey cocktail incorporates them and a few other ingredients for a sweet, layered dessert drink. You’ll love its creamy consistency and its rich chocolate flavor. Plus, it looks charming and festive.
18. Cadbury Creme Egg Shots
If you’re looking for something smaller and stronger but still want to be festive, try these Cadbury Creme Egg shots instead. The shots are actually inside the eggs! You’ll simply hollow out each egg and combine the cream center with Baileys Irish cream, creme de cacao, and milk. It’ll pretty much taste just like eating the original egg, but you’ll start feeling the alcohol sooner rather than later.
19. Irish Coffee
Though not traditionally “Easter-like,” Irish coffee is the perfect after-dinner cocktail. It’s also not a bad idea for brunch, especially if you have a few sleepyheads around the table. It combines the powerful caffeine rush of coffee with the “get happy” punch of jigger Irish whiskey and cream liqueur. There’s also whipped cream and nutmeg, which are always good for a sugar rush. There’s one thing about it; you can’t enjoy this thick, creamy coffee cocktail and not feel better afterward.
20. Cucumber Vodka Lemonade
If you’re a cucumber lemonade skeptic, cut it out right now! I, too, was leery of this drink, but it’s pure, refreshing deliciousness — minty, fresh, and sweetly tart. Add in a dash of vodka, and you get all that yumminess along with a nice buzz. It’s hard to beat that.
21. French 75
This light pink, citrus drink looks delicate and elegant, but it packs a wallop of a punch, thanks primarily to the two to three ounces of champagne and one and a half ounces of gin. There’s also fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and a lovely lemon peel garnish. Despite all the lemon, the drink is sweeter than you’d imagine, but you’ll definitely taste (and feel) the alcohol in it.
22. Blood Orange Elderflower Gin Cocktail
Unless you’ve had elderflower liqueur in the past, it’s hard to imagine (and describe!) this drink’s taste. It’s light, fruity, and almost floral-like, but there’s something else there, as well. It’s an incredibly refreshing drink, and the blood orange juice gives it a vibrant crimson color and a sweetly tangy taste that’s also hard to describe. My advice? Try this at least once. As far as cocktails go, it’s one of the most unique, flavorful ones you’ll ever experience.
23. Jelly Bean Shot
For whatever reason, people associate jelly beans with Easter, so it makes sense that jelly bean shots are one of the “best Easter cocktails” there are. You can add jelly beans to the shots if you like, but they’re entirely optional. That sugary-sweet jelly bean taste you know and love comes entirely from three ingredients: blackberry brandy, pineapple juice, and blue Curacao. The bright colors in this shot are a lot of fun, but if you love jelly beans, the flavor is what will really get you.
24. Kir Royale
You can make this gorgeous, sparkling golden drink with just two ingredients, and it’ll only take you 2 minutes to do it! All you’ll need is Chambord and a few ounces of chilled, dry champagne. Pour them together gently to preserve the bubbles, and drop in a raspberry if you like.
25. Orange Creamsicle Mimosa
This thick, creamy drink is the ideal option for those of us who loved orange push-pops as children. That’s almost what it tastes like; plus, it’s quick and easy to make. You’ll only need four ingredients – sugar, orange juice, half and half, and champagne – and you can pull it together in 5 minutes or less. It’s bubbly and tastes mostly of oranges, so make sure you don’t overdo it. The alcohol is strong (and hidden) in this tasty treat.
