We will also share how to make homemade toaster strudel! I love to make sweet treats in the air fryer. Some of my favorite tasty air fryer recipes are these homemade pop tarts, classic cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookies. However, when you’re looking for a sweet snack or a quick breakfast for a busy weekday morning, this easy air fryer toaster strudel is one of my favorites for a tasty breakfast surprise.

Why use the air fryer versus the toaster?

Air frying the toaster strudel gives you that perfect golden brown, flaky pastry that’s fully cooked. The heating element generates hot air and the rapid air circulation creates that perfect, fried taste. There have been many times I have used my toaster and the filling is still cold from being in the freezer. Making toaster strudel in the air fryer is my favorite way to make these toaster pastries. You can find them in the freezer section of the grocery store, or you can make some from scratch!

Ingredients needed:

Pillsbury Toaster Strudel (they come in many different toaster strudel flavors and brands, but the Pillsbury brand is my favorite.)

How to Make Toaster Strudel in the Air Fryer

NOTE: This was made using a basket style 5,8qt Cosori air fryer. If you are using a different air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. Different air fryers can cook at different times and may need slight adjustments.

How do I make homemade toaster strudels?

To make homemade toaster strudel, you’ll need to have puff pastry sheets, fruit filling of your choice, and an egg wash. Cut the baking sheet into strudel-sized rectangles, add the fruit filling, and then brush the edges with the egg wash before using a fork to seal the edges of the sheets. Air fry at 350 degrees F for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through. Remove when fully cooked and the puff pastry dough is golden brown. Change up the flavors with your favorite delicious jam, an apple filling, or even with classic peanut butter. There are so many different things you can do with this homemade version.

How do I store leftover toaster strudel?

If you’re using store-bought toaster strudel, it’s best to cook what you need as you won’t want to reheat these after putting the icing on the pastry. If you’re storing homemade strudels, place them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and store them without the icing. Looking for an easy air fryer recipe along with a tasty breakfast? Make sure to grab a box of toaster strudel from the freezer section the next time you’re at the grocery store. You won’t be disappointed! More Easy Air Fryer Recipes:
