Bisquick Banana Muffins
Now, if you think these glorious treats require a lot of time and effort, think again. The recipe I’m about to share with you is so easy, even the most inexperienced baker can do it. Who would have thought you can make fluffy, moist, and irresistible banana muffins in just four easy steps? Well, with Bisquick, anything is possible. When it comes to easy baking, this versatile cake mix is my best friend. With it, I’m able to fool my family and friends into thinking I’m a baking pro with so many simple Bisquick recipes. And without further ado, here it is, the recipe for one of my most requested goodies – Bisquick banana muffins.
Tips & Tricks
For the sweetest and most aromatic banana muffins, use overripe bananas. You want to wait until their skin turns dark black if possible. Those bananas will give your muffins maximum flavor. Instead of Bisquick baking mix, experiment on other baking mixes too for more variety. A macadamia nut pancake mix sounds great with bananas! For a tropical flair, how about some shredded coconut and diced pineapples? Yum! For banana muffins that your kids will fall in love with- add a few tablespoons of Nutella. And, chocolate chips, too. It’s crazy good! Bananas and cinnamon go well together, so add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to your batter. The combination of flavors is just to die for. If you want to make a low fat version with less sugar, use reduced-fat Bisquick instead. Reduce the oil and sugar to 2 tablespoons and 1/4 cup, respectively. If you’re feeling more indulgent, slather some butter on top of your muffins and drizzle them with some honey. It is absolute perfection.
How To Store Bisquick Banana Muffins
Banana muffins are incredibly filling, so you will most likely have leftovers. Now, you would think that muffins would turn dry as they age, but they actually become soggy. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still eat them in a heartbeat. But, there’s a simple way to delay this inevitable process, letting you enjoy your muffins in high quality for a while longer. Just follow these simple steps. First, a little bit of science. As they age, the moisture inside will try to evaporate out of the muffins. If you store them in an airtight container or wrap them in plastic, the moisture won’t be able to escape and will sink back into the muffins. Hence that soggy surface. To delay the process, here’s the key: paper towels! Here’s how you do it:
Can Bisquick Banana Muffins Be Frozen?
YES! To be honest, I think that’s the best part about these banana muffins. Since these muffins are super moist, they keep well in the freezer – for up to two months! Amazing, right? Just wrap individual muffins in plastic wrap and store them in an airtight container. Then, into the freezer they go. If you need to stack them together, just add a layer of parchment paper in between. This will prevent the muffins from sticking together. To defrost, just let them sit on a wire rack at room temperature for 3 hours. If you want your muffins warm, though, you can also heat them up in a 300 degree F oven for 5 to 8 minutes.
